Pololū Nakanelua

Raised on the east side of Maui, Pololū Nakanelua grew up with the essence of an older Hawaiian world. ‘Ōlelo Hawai’i being his first language, Pololū saw and heard the world differently as he helped his family farm, hunted pigs with his uncles, sat on the mats of traditional tattoo practitioners, and perpetuated various Kanaka traditions that are over 200 years old. Pololū hopes to innovate those traditions in professional mixed martial arts and even music to show that the generational wealth of his ancestors and family still has a place on modern platforms in the society we live in today.
